Community Identified Needs in Each Category
The Florida Disaster Resilience Initiative has four participating communities in the City of Orlando that have completed Community Forums and Surveying. These communities are: Downtown Orlando, Parramore, Holden Heights, and Mercy Drive.
Here are some of the things we learned from community leader interviews, community forums, surveys and EPA Environmental Justice data.

Air Quality is some of the worst in the country in these Orlando communities. Reducing commercial traffic through these neighborhoods, and using electric buses and trucks for utilities and other traffic in these communities will reduce the Diesel Particulate Matter and reduce the impact of the extremely high Traffic Proximity and Volume.

*Current paving over of wetlands at the headwaters of the Little Wekiva River in Mercy Drive to construct light industrial warehouses is anticipated to add 700 truck trips per week through the community.
